Ambiente, Frankfurt

14 February, 2012

A very enjoyable & productive weekend was spent in Frankfurt.  Despite the bitter cold the fair was great & we've now pretty much got Christmas 2012 buttoned up which was rather unexpected.  Other highlights were our first viewing of the new Rie Elise Larsen collection on what was their first visit to Ambiente too; plus the discovery of Berlin based design company Roomsafari.

Roomsafari create and distribute home-accessoires, lamps and furniture for relaxed living manufactured by a single local production partner, the workshop for disabled people which influences the way they create and design their products.  Their product-philosophy is to use as little material as possible; elegant and detachable connection; easy and smart mountings; small transportation sizes and a simple, pure design.

Frankfurt Here We Come...

10 February, 2012

We're off this weekend to a new Tradeshow (well for us anyway) in Frankfurt.  Ambiente has more than 4,500 exhibitors, & is reported to offer an unrivalled overview of the world market in terms of breadth and depth.  As the biggest and most international order platform, it attracts around 145,000 trade visitors a year.  Let's hope it lives up to its billing & we find lots of lovely new products/suppliers.  We'll keep you posted!

Seletti Palace Collection

08 February, 2012

Seletti does it again.  Our favourite brand for quirky tableware introduced the Palace collection last year & we decided it was time to give it a try.  The collection is made up of unique porcelain tableware sets that resemble the Renaissance civic structures of Florence when stacked & provide a set of useful plates/bowls when broken down.  An more traditional style equivalent form our ever popular IBride Ming Vases.  These are aprticulalry gogod if you have limited kitchen / dining storage as they don't need to be tucked away when not in use!

Palazzo Borghese is a collection of 6 dessert bowls / small plates with a single serving bowl & Torrione is stunning tower of 6 small serving bowls & a container.

Made from Dolomite porcelain and available in a white finish with Palazzo designs.

Deryn Relph Creative Textiles

06 February, 2012

Deryn Relph is a textile designer, with a love of colour, pattern and texture, who likes to think creatively about the use of textiles she designs and constructs from her studio on the South Coast.

We're very excited to be bringing a selection of her quirky cushions, lampshades & even a chair to Found at the end of March...the chair is a special commission & needs covering so we have to wait, but for a preview of her work check out www.derynrelph.co.uk...

Magis is coming soon

04 February, 2012

We have been coverting Magis for a long time now and luckily for us we have been accepted as an authorised retailer.  We have ordered a variety of items for the shop floor and will be able to order from their entire range.  Hopefully it will be in store mid March so watch this space for updates.

Our absolute favourites from their range are the Spun Outdoor chair, designed by Thomas Heatherwick & introduced in 2011 and Marc Newson's Dish Doctor which has been around for quite a bit longer...

Deborah Bowness Wallpapers have arrived!

27 January, 2012

They're finally here & we're very excited.  Our display pack arrived yesterday beautifully presented in a genuine vintage suitcase.  We have a variety of samples from the books, dresses & chair ranges & have absolutely fallen in love with the Tata Naka dress & Flowerie Coolie Lamp.  The genuine Fake Bookshelf is all that we expected.... Just got to persuade Darren to put some up now!

Products being loaded onto the website as we speak...

Jeeves coming to the table...

19 January, 2012

We were very excited to hear from our lighting supplier Innermost yesterday that later this year they will be introducing a table and wall version of Jake Phipps iconic Jeeves and Wooster lights.  The first offering will be the Jeeves table lamp which you can set at whatever jaunty angle you like, available from April - we've reserved some of the first batch & have cleared a space on our office desk already!  Love it, love it, love it...

Deborah Bowness Wallpaper

11 January, 2012

Deborah Bowness has been designing & hand printing wallpaper for 7 years, developing her unique style & fine tuning her product.  Her commissions include Paul Smith's London flagship store; Selfridges windows; the Polydor offices & Yoo Adelgade apartment development in Copenhagen for Phillipe Starck no less.

We've been admiring them from afar for quite a while now & are very lucky to have been allowed to become one of a very few selected stockists.  We're just deciding where to put our samples and excitedly awaiting the arrival of the display pack.

In the meantime - why not take a sneaky peak at www.deborahbowness.com - our particular favourites are "Wallpaper Frocks" & "Genuine Fake Bookshelf"...

Happy New Year!

05 January, 2012

Apologies for being quiet on the blog front but the run up to Christmas was very hectic - not that we are complaining.  Best sellers this year were most definitely Miho Unexpected Deer Heads, Pop Phone Handsets, Gold Moustache Tumblers & Onion Dogs.  All still in stock if you've not checked them out yet & would like to see what all the fuss is about.

On the Christmas front our Totem Reindeer won a landslide victory with phenomenal sales, particularly following press coverage in the London Evening Standard & The Telegraph...

'Tis now approaching Tradeshow season & we're visiting a few new ones this year going farther afield to visit Formland, Denmark & Ambiente, Frankfurt to hopefully make some exciting new discoveries.  We'll keep you posted!

Happy New Year & here's to a Prosperous 2012 for us all!
